The Construction Information Network, LLC (“we” “us”) respects your right to privacy. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how we collect, share and use information about you and how you can exercise your privacy rights.
Our Privacy Policy applies to all users of our website https://crosswalk.biz (“Site”) and our Crosswalk® platform as a service (“Service”) that enables users to access certain construction industry standards and taxonomies owned by certain third parties to assist with the classification of construction information through a construction project lifecycle.

What Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
From You. We collect information from you when you register for Access to the Service directly. This information will include your name, payment method and billing address (“Transactional Information”) and you may also volunteer your company affiliation and job type. We may also collect information from you when you contact us with a customer service issue.
Through Microsoft Marketplace. We collect Transactional Information when you order access to the Service via an Add-In in Microsoft Word.
Automatically. When you visit our Site or use our Service, we may collect certain information automatically from your device, like your IP address, device type, unique device identification numbers, browser-type, broad geographic location (e.g. country or city-level location) and other technical information. Some of this information may be collected using tracking technology (“Cookies”) or analytics services. In some countries, automatically collected information may be considered personal information under applicable data protection laws. We use this information helps us to better understand the visitors who come to our Site or who use our Service, where they come from and what content and functionality interests them. We use this information for our internal analytics and to improve the quality and relevance of our Site and Service to others. You may be able to use tools or contact the applicable technology service to allow you to disable cookies, use ‘private’ browsing modes or opt out of the use of certain information collected by cookies or analytics. Please note that our system does not recognize a “Do Not Track” signal.

What Information We Retain
We retain information that we collect from you only to complete a transaction or where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements). When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your information, we will either delete or make it anonymous. If neither is possible (for example, because your information has been stored in backup archives), we will securely store your information and isolate it from any further processing until we can delete it.

If you are a resident of the European Union, you can contact us to object to processing of your personal data, ask us to restrict processing of your personal data, or request portability of your personal data. If we delete your information, you may not be able to use the Site or Service.

Withdraw your consent to our collecting or processing your information by contacting us using the information in How to Contact Us below. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any collecting or processing that we conducted before your notice of withdrawal.

Security and User ID/Password
We maintain various reasonable and appropriate administrative, physical, and technical security safeguards to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. These security safeguards include, but are not limited to, network and host security controls (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, etc.), data encryption (both at rest and during transmission), and operating procedures that are designed to protect your information. However, transmission of information on the internet is never completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of information about you. You should protect your user ID and password and NOT share it with anyone.
CAN-SPAM Compliance Notice (U.S. users only)
We may send periodic promotional or informational emails to you. You may opt-out of promotional communications by following the unsubscribe or opt-out instructions contained in the email. We will process your opt-out request within ten business days. We may still send you emails about your account or the Service.
International Transfers
Our servers are located in the United States. If we transfer information outside the United States, we will take appropriate safeguards to ensure that your information will remain protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy and all applicable laws.
Children
Our Site and Service are directed at adults and not at children under 18 years of age. When you provide information to us through our Site or to license our Service, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age. Additional Disclosures for California Residents
The following applies only to individuals who reside in California. The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) provides additional rights to know, delete and opt out, and requires businesses collecting or disclosing personal information to provide notices and means to exercise rights.
Notice of Collection. In the 12 months before the last update of this Privacy Policy, we have collected the following categories of personal information enumerated in the CCPA:
Identifiers, including name, email address, phone number account name, IP address, and an ID or number assigned to your account.
Customer records, billing and shipping address, and credit or debit card information.

We collect and use these categories of personal information for the business purposes described in the How We Use the Information Collected section above, including to provide and manage our Service. We do not sell information as the term “sell” is traditionally understood. However, to the extent “sale” under the CCPA is interpreted to include the technology detailed in the Privacy Policy, we will comply with applicable law.

Right to Know and Delete. If you are a California resident (and not a representative of a business, whether those businesses are our customers or others), you may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you (subject to certain exemptions) and information about our data practices in the preceding 12 months, including:

The categories of sources from which your personal information was collected;

We may deny certain requests, or fulfill a request only in part, based on our legal rights and obligations. For example, we may retain personal information as permitted by law, such as for tax or other record keeping purposes, to maintain an active account, and to process transactions and facilitate your requests. Except as otherwise provided by applicable California law, for purposes of these requests under this Section, personal information does not include information about job applicants, employees and other of our personnel; information about employees and other representatives of third-party entities we may interact with; or information we have collected as a service provider to our customers.
Right to Opt-Out. To the extent that we sell your personal information as the term “sell” is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you may opt-out of the sale of your personal information by us to third parties at any time. Authorized Agent. You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests to us on your behalf if you provide us with written proof of the agent’s permission to do so and verify your identity directly.

You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us for the exercise of any of your rights.
· Shine the Light. Pursuant to Section 1798.83 of the California Civil Code, residents of California can obtain certain information about the types of personal information that companies with whom they have an established business relationship have shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year. In particular, the law provides that companies must inform consumers about the categories of personal information that have been shared with third parties, the names and addresses of those third parties, and examples of the types of services or products marketed by those third parties.
